At the New York Market - Water Textures is the theme of Loftex USA's latest bath collection.
"The trend is color first, then texture, texture and texure," said James Booth, vp of marketing and brand development.
The three most important color groups for Loftex's 2012 offerings are:
• Cosmic Effects, with a strong emphasis on indigo and white;
• State of Fuscia, with accents of leaf green;
• Organics, a group of naturals.
Loftex is also showing more than regulation terry loop constructions. "We're seeing a renewal of velours," said Gretchen Dale, chief operating officer.
Velour is mostly being used as an accent to add surface interest, she said. Throughout the collection, Loftex plays with innovative dobbys and jacquard weaves.
Loftex's latest Natori beach towel collection taps into the textures of the French colonial era in Vietnam.
Natori's iconographic dragon design is being cast in indigo/white, anthracite/white and black/white.
The indigo-saturated Ikat takes its cues from the Northern Silk Road, with crisp while accents.
The vibrant Ombre towel combines pattern and color in sales of berry and purple.
Tibet Tiger uses abstract ivory tier strips on a solid black background. Another coloration employs gray stripes on black.
Block Print is a bold graphic in indigo and white.
