New York - Gilt HOME, a division of Gilt Groupe, announced the appointment of Tom Delavan as editorial director. Delavan will join Gilt on July 25 and report to Jason Goldberger, Gilt HOME's new general manager.
Delavan served as editor at large at Domino where he was responsible for the Inspiration column and celebrity home makeovers. Previously, he served as vp of art advisory at Deutsche Bank and was director of the Armory Show. Prior to that, Delavan was the specialist in contemporary art at Sotheby's.
"We're incredibly excited to have Tom Delavan join Gilt HOME," Goldberger said. "Tom is a true renaissance man. He has such a unique background with an incredible sense of style and we know that he will be a tremendous asset to our team."
Gilt plans to unveil its new home offerings later this year, which will include a mixture of full-price merchandise, one-of-a-kind items and antiques, daily flash sales, community and social tools, and offer a channel specifically for the designer. Gilt HOME currently offers 30 sales per week from over 400 brands including Baker, Kravet, Jonathan Adler, Stark, Ligne Roset, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Frette, and Soicher Marin. By incorporating a selection of products from additional trade-only brands, the company says it plans to "create an unprecedented assortment of home décor products shoppable online."
