New York - The Fashion Institute of Technology's Home Products Development Department said gifts to the the Carole Sloan Scholarship Fund, named for HTT's late founding editor, have exceeded the $2,500 needed to award the scholarship this year.
Stephen Pond, the entrepreneur who founded HTT and its sister publications, provided a gift of $50,000 in seed money to create the endowment. He has challenged the industry to match his gift so the Carole Sloan Fund can reach its goal of at least $105,000.
