Surya launches spring collection

Calhoun, Ga. - In bloom this spring at area rug and home furnishings house Surya Inc. is a new crop of hand-crafted rugs for the season's markets.

Fallon takes its design cues of fresh and light-hearted patterns and color schemes from the handmade ceramics of the collection's creator, artist Jill Rosenwald. A grouping of 100% New Zealand wool hand-woven and flat-woven rugs, this existing collection is being expanded with the New Chevron designs, which comes in four new color ways. , Made in India, a 5-foot-by-8-foot piece is set to retail for $300.

The folkloric yet modern art-inspired Banshee collection's splashes of bold colors "screams out for everyone's attention," Surya said. These rugs are hand-tufted of 100% New Zealand wool with hard-twist, multi-colored yarns accented with viscose throughout.
Made in India, a 5-foot-by-8-foot is set to retail for $599.

Designer B. Smith continues to grow her licensed collection with Surya with the addition of Sag Harbor, an elegant grouping of 100% New Zealand wool Ikat hand-woven and flat-woven rugs that employ warm brown and gold colors - designs she made to coordinate with her upholstery collection with retailer Miles Talbott Furniture.
Also made in India, a 5-foot-by-8-foot is set to retail for $300.

Moral is not a Spanish party dress, Surya said - it only looks like one. This India-made, 100% felted wool collection of hand-crafted rugs are brightly colored and have a comfortable underfoot. A 5-foot-by-8-foot is set to retail for $499.

Finally, the 70s era returns in the form on Dreamscape, the latest collection to come from Surya's partnership with the design firm, Tepper-Jackson. Bold and modern colors are combined with funky florals and a wave design to create a groovy setting.
Hand-tufted of 100% New Zealand wool, these made-in-India rugs are set to retail for $550 for a 5-foot-by-8-foot.
