At the New York Market - Allied Home has opened a new plant in Fletcher, N.C., giving itself an East Coast FOB point.
The renovated facility - at one time the Owens Blanket's Fletcher Crossing plant - has multiple pillow lines running blowing and garnets operates on the latest equipment in 40,000 sq. ft. of space. Next, Allied will develop a down room in the plant.
It's just the latest expansion for Allied Home, which last year added new lines to its facility in Los Angeles.
In other news, Allied recently hired Michele Menendez, formerly of Linen Source, to handled sales, merchandising and product development out of Tampa.
It's been a busy year for the company, which quietly debuted during spring market 2010 and officially stepped up its profile at fall market.
"We're selling a lot of better goods as well as opening price points," said Andy Schantz, ceo and chief product officer. "We moved through promotional opportunities and into programs."
Schantz said the company is working on some licensing agreements as well. "We're not keen to be a mill copycat," he said. "We want to bring new things to the market."
Looking forward to seeing your goods at High Point in April! Carole Smith, Pine Hill Studios, Bear Creek, NC
