Alok forms Textile Technology Group

Mumbai, India - Alok Industries has set up an internal Textile Technology Group to help it create new technologies.
First, Alok's research pinpointed key decision-making factors that a consumer considers when making a textiles purchase. The Textile Technology Group (TTG) focuses on enhancing those aspect of the product, using Alok's research and development facilities, labs, plant and machinery.
Arun Agarwaal, chief executive officer of Alok, says that, given current cotton prices, "We felt this investment was necessary to provide added value in basic categories like solid-color sheets and towels."
One of the advances to emerge from TTG is Sheer Soft, a proprietary finish that makes fabric softer and gives bedding "a super-sheer feel."
