Safavieh comes to Vegas with revamped website, new kids rugs

HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 1/24/2011 1:30:47 PM

Safavieh websiteSafavieh launched its redesigned website Jan. 3. Port Washington, N.Y. -- Safavieh kicked off the new year with a redesigned website that launched on Jan. 3, and this week during the Las Vegas Market the company said it will be reviewing the new online features with its retail customers.

Among the most important improvements is the new display of products done with the use of high-resolution photos of 19,600 rug skus and a high-resolution zoom feature for close-up views of each product.

Additionally, the site has been updated for easier navigation for consumers and retailers, and new filters have been added to help narrow the product search by collection, style, color, construction, size, shape, fiber or yarn content.

Also, a new designer section allows quick navigation to lifestyle licensing programs with Ralph Lauren, Martha Stewart and Thom Filicia as well as the Safavieh Couture rug collection of renowned interior designers.

"Our new website has met our goal of creating a better showcase for Safavieh's fashion and quality and the most sophisticated consumer and business to business sites in the home furnishings industry. Everything we have done focuses on improving the customer's online experience," said Cyrus Yaraghi, principal.

The site also has an improved log-in page with special features for retail customers and Safavieh sales representatives, including new accessibility to live inventory and sales and order tracking.

And the site's new trend section includes blog postings on color forecasts, decorating trends and inspirations, in addition to Safavieh news and events. The trend section links to Safavieh's social media pages on Facebook and Twitter.

In other news, Safavieh introduced its second children's rug collection this week at the Las Vegas Market.

Comprising 10 new designs, these items will be marketed under the "Safavieh Kids" label along with the original 10 patterns that launched last year.

Among the new designs is a red-white-and-blue patchwork rug that coordinates in color to a whimsical multi-stripe pattern.

"The new collection will work equally well in pre-schoolers' and pre-teens' bedrooms, and some also work as fun accent rugs in beach cottages or guest rooms," said Arash Yaraghi, principal.

These rugs are hand-tufted in India of high-quality New Zealand wool, and are set to retail for $400 for a 5-by-8.
