Burgdorf, Switzerland - Sanitized AG has created and is launching for the North American market its new Sanitized T20-19 antimicrobial product designed for cotton and cotton blends.
Specifically developed for cellulose items that require high-wash durability, Sanitized T20-19 can be applied to a broad variety of textiles apparel and home products, including upholstery, bath towels, terrycloth, table linens, mattresses, mattress protectors, and bed linens.
"We developed Sanitized T20-19 not only as a more economical but also a more ecological choice," said Darrell Burnette, business development manager for North America for Sanitized AG, a longtime producer of antimicrobial hygiene products and material protection for textiles and plastics.
"Because it is easy to apply during either the pad or the exhaust processes, textile manufacturers will find it a less expensive way of providing their customers with more high-wash durability," he continued. "Meanwhile, the customers feel the freshness and comfort in wearing cotton or cotton blend clothing treated with the Sanitized T20-19 antimicrobial finish while benefitting from its ability to reduce bacterial odors and to withstand frequent machine washings."
Developed and produced in Switzerland, Sanitized T20-19 contains quaternary ammonia salt as its active ingredient which provides two well known functions. First is its antimicrobial function that comes from destabilizing the bacterial cell wall and deactivating the bacteria. This is what prevents their growth and hinders the reproduction of the bacteria responsible for the development of unpleasant odors - offering optimal freshness and comfort. The second is to serve as a chemical anchor through an organic silicium function, which forms a stable and therefore highly wash-resistant bond with all fibers containing cellulose.
In addition, T20-19 carries "bluesign" approval and the Oeko-Tex standard 100 (class I-IV), indicating it has undergone stringent quality tests and has met the highest requirements.
