NYIGF to host 300-plus companies from around the world

White Plains, N.Y. - Participating in the upcoming winter 2011 edition of the New York International Gift Fair will be more than 300 international companies - representing 47 countries in six continents - across 10 divisions of the event.
Also part of the fair will be about 15 international government-sponsored contingents, eight of them - from Africa, England, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Mexico and Russia - to be located within NYIGF's General Gift division. Additionally, government-sponsored groups from England, Egypt, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Mexico and Peru will be positioned in the event's Handmade, Accent on Design, and Tabletop & Houswares divisions.
"Not only are global resources readily accessible throughout the Fair, they are conveniently categorized for buyers in themed product divisions," noted Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vp.
The winter NYIGF is set for Jan. 29 through Feb. 3 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94.
Also in the fair's General Gift division will be the Africa Now!, Ateliers d'Art de France, British Jewelry and Giftware Exports, Israel Export Institute, JETRO New York (Japan), Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH (Germany), PROMEXICO and the Russian pavilions.
The Italian Trade Commission is to be represented in the Tabletop & Housewares section.
The American Chamber of Commerce from Peru, Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink), and Israel Export Institute will be featured in the Handmade Global Design area, and the British Crafts Council and Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH (Germany) will be located in Handmade Designer Maker.
The Accent on Design division has accepted six companies from the British Design Group and four companies from Ateliers d'Art de France into its juried collection of design-led resources.
Companies from around the world will also exhibit independently in the fair, with the following countries represented: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mali, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, the United Kingdom (England and Scotland) and Uzbekistan.
