Sorgeloos Named President-Elect at HFPA Meeting

KEITH SORGELOOS Home Source InternationalNEW YORK - The Home Fashion Products Association held its annual meeting here recently, naming Home Source International president Keith Sorgeloos as president-elect. He will take office a year from now.
     The event, preceeded by a board of directors meeting, was highlighted by a presentation by Janine Finkle, vice president of market intelligence for Design Research Reports, who spoke on demographic trends impacting home marketing strategies.
     Some 50 industry executives were at the event, presided over by Rich Roman of Revman International, who is HFPA president. Presentations were given for various committees, including membership, finance, legal and philanthropic activities. Membership for the group is up 10% to 53 members, one of the largest increases in a number of years. Membership dues will not be raised in 2011.
     Sorgeloos also heads the YoPro committee for young professionals, and he reported on activities at the recent fall market, where some 170 students toured New York showrooms and attended a seminar with industry executives.
