Belk Investing $150 mil in IT

Regional department store Belk Inc. will spend $150 million to overhaul its information technology infrastructure, a three-year process.
     The project focuses on upgrading Belk's merchandise planning and replenishment, store point-of-sale and e-commerce functions. The company plans to add approximately 75 IT positions at its corporate office here this year and next year in addition to the 39 merchandising positions previously announced.
