JCP gets in Macy's face, New York-style

New York - JCPenney's exclusive deal with the Liz Claiborne brand across multiple product categories, including home, today yielded an "in your face" ad in the New York Times that takes aim at Macy's, which carried the label until the Penney's deal went down.
On page 15 of the front section of today's paper, a JCPenney ad asks: "Where's Liz?"
The answer, as supplied in the ad: "Exclusively at 1. JCPenney 2. JCP.com 3. Not Macy's 4. All of the above."
For long-time New York retail afficionados, there's some history behind the jab. JCP chairman and ceo Mike Ullman was once Macy's ceo. And last year, JCPenney opened its first Manhattan store just a few steps away from Macy's New York flagship.
We would love your feedback!
