Kmart offers in-store pick-up for online orders

Hoffman Estates, Ill. - Kmart has added a new feature to its online shopping for the holiday season that enables customers to pick up online orders at a local store on the same day.

The service is available at more than 600 Kmart stores, although not all stores stock the full merchandise offering.

The retailer will also send out special promotions by SMS text messages to mobile devices.

"We're empowering our customers with all the choices they need to make shopping the most convenient for them, wherever they may be," ," said Imran Jooma, president of ecommerce at Kmart parent Sears Holdings.
