Atlanta--AmericasMart Building 1 is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2011. First opened as the Atlanta Merchandise Mart in 1961, its long-running role as a premier U.S. showcase for home furnishings, décor and accents will continue with the January 2011 Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market and Atlanta International Area Rug Market.
Building 1 has become the epicenter for the market's expansive HOME furnishings product mix, which encompasses more than two million square feet of merchandise. Spanning 15 floors of permanent showrooms, the HOME product collections include high-end, design-driven home furnishings, home accessories, fine linens and textiles, wall paintings, lighting, holiday and floral décor and the world's largest collection of area rugs. With the most complete product collections, the HOME building becomes a destination for retailers to discover more product, experience more diverse offerings and select from more options.
Supporting the permanent HOME showrooms are 10 home categories in the Market Temporaries, several of which are housed in four floors of the HOME building (floors 1, 2, 7, 8). Making its debut this January in the Temporaries is HD Home, a juried collection of exclusive high-design home furnishings and décor that will be showcased in the HOME building on the first floor.
Also at the January markets, special guests will take the spotlight in the HOME center to educate, entertain and excite retailers about 2011 trends and building business. AmericasMart will release more details on these events as January nears.
We would love your feedback!
