American Textile fetes 85th anniversary

Home Textiles Today Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/28/2010 11:35:58 AM

Duquesne, Pa. - American Textile Company is celebrating 85 years of providing its "sound science, sound sleep" basic bedding products in October.

"Over the past 85 years, American Textile Company has remained strong throughout many changes in the economic climate," said Reid Ruttenberg, chairman of the board. "I attribute our success to several factors: anticipating market needs, developing new product line extensions, and providing value-based solutions to our customers."

To celebrate its anniversary, the company will host a 1920s-themed celebration - recalling the times of its origins -- on Oct. 2 here at headquarters.

The company was founded in 1925 as a basic bedding supplier. Today's its product line encompasses mattress and pillow protectors, bed pillows and mattress pads designed to improve the quality of its users' sleep. The brand assortment includes Aller-Ease for people who suffer from asthma and allergies, Rest Right high-performance bedding solutions, DermaTherapy for people with sensitive skin or chronic skin problems, and Cool Sensations bedding constructed with special fabric technology that manages the discomfort associated with night sweats.

American Textiles COmpany said its "track record of results" is due to its investment in people, processes, and technology.

Looking to keep that momentum up, American Textile Company is "focused on aggressive growth for 2011, illustrating the strength of the company's strategy," said Ruttenberg.

The company employs more than 400 people throughout all of its operating facilities, with over 200 at headquarters.
