Texstyle/Jamie Sterm partners with Mikel Patrik for hopitality rug market

HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/22/2010 2:08:48 PM

New York - Home textiles house Texstyle/Jamie Stern have joined forces with designer and artist Mikel Patrik for a new custom collection of rugs for the hospitality market.

Launched officially this month during the HD Boutique at Miami Beach Convention Center, the exclusive program "provided an opportunity that reinforces my vision and body of work, studying the complexities and exploration of color, form and scale, which transcends well into ‘floor art'," explained Mikel Patrick Thieme, owner and artist of Mikel Patrik.

The collection includes three designs, each of which was taken directly from Patrik's paintings and use the same titles. Stitch is a concentric square rug, Strata is a striped pattern, and Pixel is a design of small scattered rectangles. The three designs are available in three colorways each.

Since 1983, Texstyle/Jamie Stern has been serving the hospitality design and contract marketplace with rugs, leather, and furniture. Privately held, the company is headquartered in River Vale, NJ, and manufactures products both domestically and abroad. Its collection with Patrik is its latest designer-branded offering.

"When we were exposed to Mikel Patrik's vibrant work in Dwell magazine, we immediately became intrigued with the obvious correlation of his painting to hand-tufted rugs," said Jamie Stern, president, Texstyle/Jamie Stern. "Mikel's background as an architect smoothed the transition and Mikel Patrik's Rug Collection came to life. We are very excited to add Mikel to the list of prestigious designer's who have created collections for Texstyle/Jamie Stern."

As with all Texstyle/Jamie Stern rugs, the Mikel Patrik collection is available in 100% New Zealand Wool with silk, viscose or bamboo silk accents.
