Design Weave USA and Lenzing market Insolaire Viloft bedding

HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/9/2010 11:52:49 AM

New York -- High-end solution-based utility and fashion bedding manufacturer Design Weave USA has aligned forces with fiber technology group Lenzing for the first ever bedding collection featuring the high-tech Viloft fiber.

Branded as Insolaire, this new bedding collection comprising sheet sets and pillowcases employs a blend that consists of 50% Viloft fiber and 50% cotton sateen. The line includes comforters, blankets and throws filled with 50% Viloft fiber and 50% down, available in a variety of fill weights, and comes in a soft and contemporary color palette.

Viloft is 100% natural, biodegradable and certified to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. It is already used extensively in the high-end apparel products for its inherent technical properties and characteristics such as breathability, softness, and light weight. It insulates against the cold while retaining warmth, and whisks moisture away from the skin.

Manufactured by Kelheim Fibres, Viloft was recently added to the Lenzing portfolio of brands and will be marketed along with other specialty fibers.

"At Lenzing, we are always looking to partner with innovative companies who are a step ahead of the pack, and Design Weave is one of those companies," said Nina Nadash, home textiles merchandiser, Lenzing Americas.

Added Judy Vella, vp, product development and branding, Design Weave: "We are not only excited about the beauty and functionality of our new ‘Insolaire' with ‘Viloft' bedding collection, but also about our partnership with Lenzing, known for consistently being on the forefront of the newest technology in functional, natural fibers."

The launch is set for this week's New York Home Fashions market.
