Kohl's fundraisers for breast cancer with new Vera Wang program

HTT Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/7/2010 12:55:29 PM

Menomonee Falls, Wis. - Kohl's Department Store is raising money for breast cancer research with a new pink-colored line of women's products - including home goods - under the "Kohl's Cares" cause-oriented merchandise program.

The exclusive cause merchandise will be available in all 39 Kohl's stores in Wisconsin, the retailer's home state, as well as online at www.kohls.com. All profits will be donated to support the fight against breast cancer.

The first collection for the cause was created by designer Vera Wang for her Simply Vera Vera Wang exclusive brand at Kohl's. It will be available Sept. 7 through Dec. 24.

Spanning 15 items, it includes apparel, accessories, fashion jewelry and home goods, each priced at $5 or $10. The collection will be merchandise together in its own center aisle of each store.

The Kohl's Cares breast cancer cause merchandise program will continue with a new collection after the holidays. Future collections will include special items from other exclusive brands at Kohl's.

"As Kohl's has recently expanded our philanthropic efforts to support the fight against breast cancer, we are very excited to expand our cause merchandise program with exciting new items that benefit that cause," said Julie Gardner, evp and chief marketing officer. "The new cause merchandise collection, designed by Vera Wang, represents so much more than beauty and value; it gives our customers an easy way to support a cause that means so much to all of us."
