Trident expands towel weaving techniques and palettes
Unveils fresh designs in new 295 Fifth showroom

New York - New construction technologies and weaving techniques, expanded bathrobes and loungewear lines and a broadened palette for its Southern Living licensed collection are among the many new offerings being unveiled at market by Abhishek Industries Ltd.'s division The Trident Group.
Setting the stage for the many rollouts is the company's new showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue. Located in suite 1112, it measures about 4,200 square feet - roughly triple the size of the company's former space in suite 909.
"Utilizing my extensive design background, I was able to create a very chic, minimalist vision for the new Trident showroom," said Joanne Krakowski, U.S. sales and marketing manager. "I focused of course on our product presentation. But I also wanted to make our customers my priority. I wanted to consider their needs and offer them a comfortable, loft-like environment where they could come do business, see our products, relax - and never want to leave."
In celebration of its new location and the new product lineup, Trident is hosting a market party in its new space at 4 p.m. on September 12.
Under the new label Air Rich comes an expanded line of the towel program formerly known as Rapper. Originally launched two years ago, these products employ longer loops that are firm instead of being shaggy. The result is a plush and soft look and feel that is lint-free and highly absorbent. For market, the company is also expanding the fiber-blend offering of towels made in this construction.
Also new this market, Trident unveils a towel program that features a variety of innovative weaving techniques, including variable pile height, texture-in-texture, embossed dobby looks, weft inserts, and others constructions.
In a similar vein, the company is also introducing "value added" finishes such as the Cooling Effect feature, anti-piling, White Pro, and a benzoil peroxide-resistant feature.
"These are a range of towels that are both practical and functional," the company said. For example, the benzoil peroxide-resistant towel prevents colors from fading when it comes in contact with strong facial acne creams and other similar products. Trident's White Pro towel retains its whiteness after repeated washes. And the Cooling Effect towel gives the user a menthol-like refreshing feel upon drying.
Trident's licensed Southern Living Collection is being enhanced with a new eight-color palette, anchored by neutrals, as well as two new towel ensemble programs: a quick-dry bamboo and a Supima cotton cone-ply style.
Additionally, Trident is now launching officially - after a short test launch last market - its terry bathrobe and loungewear line. The program centers on 100% cotton terry products, but Trident is offering fiber blends as another option to customers. The company last year set up the manufacturing facility specific to these products, and the capacity there is 1.2 million pieces per year. The products are made to complement Trident's existing terry towel operations.
