Dollar General opens 9,000th store

Goodlettsville, Tenn. - Dollar General's new store in Fountain Run, Ky., marks the retailer's 9,000th store.
The company opened its first store in 1955 in Springfield, Ky. The company operates in 35 states and claims to have the most company-owned stores of any retailer in the U.S.
