Brookfield, Ohio. - Linens&More for Less, a new retail concept headed by veteran retail industry executive Fred Mershad, opens its first store this Friday,July 23, in the Howland Commons near Warren, Ohio.

The 30,000-square-foot home furnishings store is designed as a "category killer" in retailing for the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen as well as dining, candles, a frame shop, luggage, and a mattress department featuring Sealy and Stearns & Foster. In decorative bedding, the stores will feature 28 beds.

For the year, the company expects to open six stores, with 50 planned for the next three years. The company also plans to open a bridal registry in 2011.

Featured throughout will be one-of-a-kind, extraordinary values on the store's S.O.S - Super Outstanding Savings - and offerings will change frequently. The company is not a discount chain, Mershad insisted.

"We're a value-driven, quality retailer, and we'll be offering top grade merchandise at terrific prices," he said.

Mershad has more than 30 years retailing experience, having served as chairman, president and ceo of Elder Beerman, president and ceo of Profitt's, president and ceo of World Bazaar and president of Goody's.
