Dalton, Ga. -- Handmade and machine-made area rug manufacturer Kaleen has gained ISO 9001:2008 certification for its newest factory, the Marudhar Fashions facility in Mirzapur, India.
The Marudhar plant, which opened in spring 2009, produces hand tufted and hand loomed area rugs, the company said.
Joe Barkley, executive vp of Kaleen, noted that ISO certification is a standard of rigid specifications and requirements that are integrated in the manufacturing process to ensure the highest levels of product quality and consistency.
“I am delighted our Mirzapur factory has achieved this milestone,” said Radhe Rathi, ceo of Kaleen Worldwide. “This is a testimony of the hard work and craftsmanship of our management and associates.”
The plant is the latest of Kaleen’s facilities to be recognized with ISO certification. The company produces a broad open line of area rugs, as well as the exclusive Paula Deen Collection.
