New York —
For the second year in a row, Sears and Kmart were the major sponsors of the annual Design on a Dime fundraiser here last week.
The event brought together 88 designers and/or brands – including home brands from Sears and Kmart. All products were donated to raise money for Housing Works, a non-profit that provides residences for formerly homeless victims of HIV/AIDS.
Over the course of three days, the public could buy some of the smaller items outright at discount prices or bid in a silent auction for the larger pieces. The opening night VIP gala drew an array of fashionistas to kick-start the sales.
We would love your feedback!
