Needleman Steps into Leadership Role at Peacock Alley

-- Home Textiles Today, 11/9/2009 12:00:00 AM

Jason Needleman has been named ceo of Peacock Alley. He succeeds his mother, Mary Ella Gabler-Bitzer, founder of the luxury bedding and bath company. She becomes chairman.

Needleman has been a long-standing board member of the 38-year-old company. He most recently was with Reelfx, a video game company, and Activision, a manufacturer of video games. Prior to joining Reelfx, he spent a year at Peacock Alley during a revamping of the company’s activities.

“I was selling creative products, now I’m selling design. It’s also a different client base,” he commented. One of his immediate challenges “is making it through these economic times that for luxury goods will last at least another six months.”

After that, he believes, “There will be a greater design appreciation as well as new ways of doing retailing and a growing designer business.”

His brother, Josh Needleman, has been with the company serving as vp, strategic sales.
