Debbie Mumm teams with PHI

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 2/24/2003 12:00:00 AM

Through a recently forged licensing partnership with artist Debbie Mumm, Peking Handicraft Inc. has created a new line of needlepoint decorative pillows, rugs, lamp shades, chair pads and coasters.

The line, which is manufactured by PHI in China, was unveiled in January at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.

Some of the major design themes by Mumm that PHI is utilizing are Classic Fruit Bowls, Something to Crow About, Cabin Fever and Sunny Safari.

"We are delighted with our Debbie Mumm licensed products," said Derrick Lo, gift division manager, PHI, which also works with 20 other designer licenses. "Debbie Mumm's recent launch with PHI was an impressive display of appealing designs, a wonderful color palette, lovely patterns and great texture."

PHI also has Christmas stockings and Christmas tree skirts in development. "I am so excited to be working with Peking Handicraft," said Debbie Mumm, whose company is based in Spokane, WA. "I'm especially thrilled with how beautifully my artwork has translated into textile materials. The detail and color of the products by Peking are amazing."

PHI was awarded distribution in catalogs and department, gift, specialty and upscale mass stores. Retail price points range from $15 for a chair pad to $176 for a 3' x 5' rug.
