Taylor takes new evp post at Home Depot; Raines promoted

ATLANTA — The Home Depot has promoted Tom Taylor, a 21-year company veteran, to the newly created role of executive vice president, Home Depot Stores.

In his new role, Taylor will be responsible for execution across all U.S. and Mexico stores, and will work with John Costello, executive vice president, merchandising and marketing, and Carl Liebert, senior vice president, operations, to provide customers with products and services in a superior store environment.

Taylor most recently served as president of the company’s Eastern Division, the largest division of The Home Depot, consisting of more than 600 stores and 150,000 associates.

The company has also promoted Paul Raines, regional vice president, Florida , to division president. Raines and the other two U.S. division presidents and the president of the Mexico Division will report directly to Taylor .

Home Depot is now having its Global Supply Chain and Business Process Improvement groups report directly to Liebert. He was formerly senior vice president and division president for Circuit City prior to joining the company in 2003.
