Veratex shows full Jennifer Gucci line

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 6/25/2007 1:18:00 PM

New York – Veratex last week unveiled its Jennifer Gucci home textiles line, an extensive debut that encompasses more than 500 skus in bedding, bath, and rugs.

“This is the first time we’re showing everything together,” said Veratex president Avi Cohen of the cross-merchandised presentation, which took place during the annual Licensing International Show in New York.

The presentation of 15 Jennifer Gucci beds and coordinating product consumed Veratex’s showroom. Veratex advised customers that the full presentation would be a one-time-only affair. For the August market, the showroom will be given over to Veratex-branded introductions.

Jennifer Gucci fashion bedding consists of light fabrics, clean looks and sparing embellishments, “but it’s a higher level of embellishment,” noted Cohen. Fabrications include sateen, cotton duck, jacquard with silk appliqué and embroidery on cotton damask, among others.

Top of bed will be available as duvets or comforters, depending upon customer interest. “We’re shooting for $199 to $249 retail,” said vp Dale Talbert.

Coordinating solid color sheets in 800-count pima include various types of detailing on the cuffs and will be sold in sets for around $199.99. Sheets and other bedding products are packaged in suitcase-shaped vinyl with a hard plastic handle and a panel design that suggests designer luggage. The Jennifer Gucci crest is embossed on the face of the packaging.

Veratex has crafted a bath accessories collection for each bed. Materials include laser-cut porcelain, tinted glass, foil on glass, and metal insets in glass as well as wood and ornate resin designs. Jennifer Gucci bath coordinates also include plush Egyptian cotton bath rugs with overscale scroll designs, along with freestanding and coordinating shower curtains.

The Jennifer Gucci collection also encompasses quilted, reversible coverlets in a silk-like construction, a variety of all-cotton and cotton/linen throws, and utility bedding with 233-count cotton covers.

In addition to bath rugs, floor coverings include scatter rugs in a variety of constructions as well as area rugs.
