At the New York Market —The new license with Hillary Duff is among the leading introductions from Dan River this market. That line joins new and expanded offerings from Phat Farm and Lilly Pulitzer, along with intros from the company's Royalton collection of luxury products, 24/7, Caribbean Joe and other programs.
The Hillary Duff introductions cover four broad lifestyle statements informed largely by apparel and attitude.
The Broken English group is pieced together from updated hipster '60s Brit rocker looks in two patterns. The Global Hippie group consists of two patterns that blend multi-ethnic looks with a “comfortably Bohemian” and trendy fashion feel. Night Flight is vintage, inspired by romantic soft tones accented with touches of black in two patterns. Gothic Romance is a softened apparel feel with a harder cool rock edge.
Russell Simmons' Phat Farm is debuting five new patterns at this market. Among them, Argyle brings a classic menswear pattern with argyle appliques and embroidery, combined with a sueded herringbone textured fabric. Hollis is inspired by Phat Farm shirting patterns. Centennial Classic features Phat Farm logo prints and classic twill chino with piecing detail and fresh color combinations aimed at back-to-school and dorm rooms. Other patterns are Shearling and X-Stealth.
The Baby Phat intros cover both adult and back-to-school with seven patterns, among them Bling Bling, an over-the-top pattern of opulence and Hollywood-style glamour. A soft aqua-pelted faux fur is paired with a traditional Chinese jacquard, accented with dragons and the Baby Phat logo. Dec pillows combine the lush materials from the comforter with gossamer sequins and beaded tassels. Other Baby Phat patterns include China Doll and Asian Black Velvet.
Lilly Pulitzer is surrounded by butterflies this market, bringing over a key design element from her apparel line. Among her introductions is Butterfly Garden, featuring a printed garden of flowers with white butterflies on a pique ground and a pink pique comforter reverse. Ditty Dotty features luxury 400-thread count jacquard sheets with simple daisy designs and coordinates with all of Lilly's bedding ensembles.
