Carpet Art Deco is a manufacturer of area rugs that is currently negotiating a licensing agreement to use the name Burlington House Floor Accents and is financing the construction of a new distribution facility in Montreal where Burlington is moving its operations.
Under the Carpet Art Deco name, Burlington is becoming a full-fledged import house, "even though importing from Montreal is pretty much like manufacturing in the U.S. It may just take one extra day of lead time, but that's all."
Historically, Burlington was a domestic manufacturer with a small percentage of the business-specifically large woven polypropylene rugs-being imported from Belgium. But since the new agreement with Carpet Art Deco, area rugs will only be imported from the Canadian facility. Burlington also recently shut down its Monticello plant where tufted rugs were made and sold the business to an independent company that is licensing the name Burlington Rug Corp.
