Creative Bath, Donna Dewberry ink licensing deal

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 5/24/2004 12:00:00 AM

Creative Bath Products and Donna Dewberry Designs recently signed a licensing agreement to translate the craft artist's designs onto a fully coordinated line of bath products.

The line, set to launch in October during the New York Home Textiles Market, will comprise three to four collections.

Each collection includes coordinating bath towels, a rug, a shower curtain and bath accessories.

The company is also exploring the possibility of adding some do-it-yourself collections that allow shoppers to paint the bath accessories themselves.

Rick Lipton, national sales manager, said price points are "moderate," with fabric shower curtains set to retail between $24.99 and $29.99.

Creative Bath is hoping the line will serve as a vehicle to "broaden our appeal as a manufacturing and marketing company to the crafts industry," said Lipton, "which, in turn, would significantly open up our channels of distribution from the accepted norm of home furnishing retailers to a wider and more diverse group of consumers."
