KANNAPOLIS, NC —
A series of tests conducted by Good Housekeeping Institute has rated two towels manufactured by Pillowtex Corp. as being the best overall and having the greatest value.
The two towels are the Lands' End Supima and the JCPenney bath.
"We are proud that the Good Housekeeping Institute has recognized the quality of our products through their careful testing process," said Mike Gannaway, Pillowtex's president. "Our products have long stood for quality, which has made our brands a favorite among consumers and among the strongest in the industry."
Good Housekeeping's tests measured four attributes: absorption, shrinkage, appearance and color fastness. Towels were put through repeated washings and evaluated based on the four criteria. Twenty-three towels from a variety of manufacturers with retail prices ranging from $4 to $24 and in navy blue and cream, two of the best-selling colors, were tested.
The Lands' End towel was rated the "overall best towel," while the J.C. Penney bath towel was rated as "greatest value towel." The former also received top scores for absorption and color fastness, while yet another Pillowtex brand, Royal Velvet, was rated at the top for least amount of shrinkage.
We would love your feedback!
