Waverly Returns to Core Themes

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 6/19/2006 12:00:00 AM

New York — Following fall 2005's turn toward modern classics, Waverly has introduced three new fabric collections that focus on its core looks: florals, toiles, stripes and coordinating wovens.

The company has also added three velvets to its line, as part of the new Exotic Passages collection. Velvet Leaf, Velvet Dot and Velvet Stripe each come in ruby, blonde or chocolate and wholesale around $12.95 per yard.

The new In The Garden collection includes another new fabric: Rosabella, a three-color vine motif embroidery on a faux silk ground.

Romantic Overtures introduces a new base cloth for Waverly prints: Circa, a linen/rayon blend with slubs running in both directions.

“Wovens are very important in all the collections, because they really carry the story,” said Pam Maffei-Toolan, vp design.

On the contemporary side, Waverly added to the Metamorphosis II collection introduced last year and updated the core prints, adding colorations in onyx, crimson/espresso, space and sage. Three new woven stripes have been added to the collection along with a reversible Garden Lattice woven.
