Loloi launches five collections that hit more affordable price brackets

-- Home Textiles Today, 7/30/2009 9:12:00 AM

Dallas – Loloi Rugs has created several new machine-made and handmade area rug collections that hit a new and sharper price points.

To reach the popular $199 to $249 retail range, Loloi launched five new collections – Encore, Welbourne, Peyton, Grand Canyon, and Mongolian Shag – recently during the Atlanta International Area Rug Market in mid July.

Loloi Rugs typically centers its assortment on mid-level to high-end rug offerings. Based on the response to the new group, Loloi is moving ahead to develop the collections into permanent programs.

“Given our economy right now, providing value-oriented products is more important than ever. We definitely consider our new collections to contain some quality products at a very attractive price,” said Amir Loloi, president.

Encore is a grouping of high-low constructed power-loomed contemporary shag styles in transitional looks interpreted in neutral earth tone colors and nine over-scaled patterns. The rugs are 100% polypropylene and made in Turkey.

Welbourne, also machine-made of 100% polypropylene, features more traditional designs – 12 total – but in modern palettes. The densely woven rugs are also made in Turkey.

The Peyton collection comprises transitional-styled rugs made of 100% sisal with a braided border.

The Grand Canyon is also transitional in style. Made in China, it employs cow skins in its construction for a lodge look.

The Mongolian Shag collection is a contemporary grouping made in China of 100% acrylic for a soft touch.

“We’re trying to keep the price points for these rugs within that popular price range,” added Hamed Damavandi, marketing manager. “The market is not good right now, and people don’t want to spend a lot, so we are trying to keep our prices as low as possible while still offering them quality.”
