Fort Mill, S.C. – Polyester fiber producer Wellman will increase by an additional $0.04 per pound its price on all Fortrel polyester staple fiber products, effective with Dec. 15 shipments.
Steve Ates, vp sales and marketing, said, “The increase previously announced for December 1 has been insufficient to offset the continued rapid acceleration in the cost of ethylene glycol, a primary raw material used in the manufacture of polyester staple fiber.”
The company also manufactures packaging resins.
