Fort Lee, N.J. – Area rug and carpet house Couristan has added two new area rug collections – one for the outdoors and the other a shag – to its portfolio.
Urbane is the name given to the company’s latest outdoor area rug collection. The rugs feature a textured surface that combines the durability of a flat-weave with the plush feel of cut-pile styles. Power-loomed of 100% fiber-enhanced Courtron polypropylene, which is Couristan’s own proprietary synthetic fiber brand, Urbane pieces resistant to stains, weather and water damage. They are UV stabilized and are 100% recyclable. The suggested retail price is $109 for a 5-foot-2-inch-by-7-foot-6-inch.
Couristan’s newest shag offering is the Moonwalk collection, which draws its broad range of design inspirations from nature, including leaf prints, to contemporary geometric lines. These area rugs are Wilton-woven of 100% Courtron-branded polypropylene, and the thick shag surface features a hard-twisted yarn effect intended to help reduce tracking, shading and shedding. The suggested retail price for a 5-foot-3-inch-by-7-foot-by-6-inch is $249.
