Kmart adds Stokes to HR dept.
VP position an expansion of retired Macik's role.

TROY, MI -Valeria Jewell Stokes has been appointed vp, human resources-corporate for the Kmart Corporation, effective immediately.
Stokes will be responsible for corporate staff human resources, diversity, business services and executive recruiting.
She reports directly to David Rots, executive vp, human resources and administration.
This position is an expansion of the vp for human resources post previously held by Mike Macik, who retired earlier this fall.
Prior to joining Kmart, Stokes served as vp for ACCO World Learning & Organizational Development, a subsidiary of Fortune Brands.
From 1994 to 1996, she was the management and executive consultant for Sears, Roebuck and Co.

He went on to add, "Her ideas and best practices will reinforce our strategy to become a world-class retailer."
