Nourison expands pet, laundry/mud room assortment with bigger sizes

At the New York Market – Building on the popularity of its hand-hooked machine-washable pet and laundry/mud room accent rug styles, Nourison came to market with new and larger sizes.
Paula Paquette, vp, accent rug division, told HTT the company now offers a 27-by-45 and a double sink 22-by-54 size – each of which can carry a higher retail price of $39.99 versus the assortment’s typical 20-by-34 size which sell for $19.99.
“We’re offering incremental sizes and getting higher retail dollars,” she said.
Another growth area is the company’s Modern Accents line, a grouping of contemporary-themed poly-acrylic rugs featuring a non-skid latex backing. These rugs are hand carved and machine washable, liked their hand-hooked counterparts.
“We introduced this in September and it’s shipping now to stores, so we've decided to bring in more sophisticate looks,” Paquette said. “This appeals different [department] buyers and different retailers and gives us new business.”
A 2-by-3 Modern Accents rug is set to retail for $12.99.
