Couristan reorganizes sales markets

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 12/2/2002 12:00:00 AM

Area rug manufacturer Couristan Inc. recently hired two new territory managers and created a new territory sales market, creating a total of 35 territories in North America.

George Marinovich, formerly assistant area rug buyer for The Bon Marché and previously as a western U.S. accounts executive for Nourison, has been assigned to manage accounts in Washington, Oregon and Alaska in the United States and British Columbia and Alberta in Canada. He replaces Alan Crowder, who left Couristan a month ago for unspecified reasons.

Tom McKay, who for the past 17 years owned and operated McKay Carpets Inc. in Dallas, has been assigned to cover Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and southern Illinois. McKay's post was newly created by Couristan, which recently reorganized its territories in an effort to "increase the number of accounts we have there as well as better service those customers," Larry Mahurter, director of advertising and sales, told Home Textiles Today.

Both Marinovich and McKay report to Bob Ball, vp, national sales manager.
