828 Int'l expands rug collection

GREENVILLE, SC —

At the Atlanta International Rug Show this July, area rug import house 828 International will be debuting 68 new designs within five new collections.

The new collections comprise an assortment of constructions and price points, all of which are designed for the company's core base of independent retailers nationwide.

They new collections are:

• Accents, a collection of eight hand-hooked rugs in soft colors and contemporary patterns, available in four sizes—6-foot rounds, 2' x 3', 4' x 6' and 5' x 8'—with price points averaging $299 for a 5' x 8';

• Highlights, featuring a combination of two- and three-ply yarns in extra-long lengths resembling the shag look and thick texture, and available in eight solid and multi-hued colorways as well as three sizes—2' x 3', 4' x 6' and 5' x 8'—with a suggested retail price of $299 for a 5' x 8';

• Mosaic, a 100 percent wool hand-knotted contemporary collection consisting of two rugs in color combinations of black with white and ivory with white in a cobblestone design, available in three sizes—4' x 6', 5' x 8' and 8' x 10'—with the average price point set at $399 for a 5' x 8'.

• Royal Gems, a collection of 10 traditional styles in ivory, green and black and designed like 828's existing Royal Millennium collection of power-loomed, heat-set polypropylene rugs with 1.5 million points per square meter, available in assorted sizes, with a suggested retail price point of $399 for a 5' x 8';

• Summit, which represents the company's first wool-and-silk blend collection. It is hand-tufted and available in 11 patterns in a palette of berry, blue, green, pink, black, beige and cream in floral patterns as well as three sizes—5' x 8', 8' x 10' and 9' x 12'—with a suggested retail of $599 for a 5' x 8'.

Aside from the new rugs, 828 will also add 30 new patterns to some of its most popular existing lines, including the 100 percent wool hand-knotted Himalayan, Taos and Tibetan collections.

828 International's entire line of new power-loomed and hand-knotted rugs will be on display at its Atlanta showroom.
