CHARLOTTE, NC -Industry veteran Bob Dellinger has resigned as president of Davidson Cotton Co., a company he and other former Fieldcrest Cannon executives created three years ago after the major mill was acquired by Pillowtex Corp.

Dellinger has not yet made his future plans known.

Dellinger's former post of president remains vacant, and two of his Davidson co-founders remain on the job, Jim Fitzgibbons, chairman and ceo, and Bill Heitman, executive vice president and general manager of the towel and accessories business.

In the wake of Dellinger's exit, William Goodman has joined the company as vice president of supply chain management. Steve Plunkett has been named executive vice president of sales, and Fulton Allen has been named executive vp of marketing, merchandising and sourcing.
