Menomonee Falls, Wis. – Mid-tier retailer Kohl’s has reached a licensing agreement with Liz Claiborne Inc. naming Kohl’s the exclusive U.S. retailer for the Dana Buchman brand in fashion merchandise and – potentially – in home textiles.
The designer will discontinue his upstairs line. The Dana Buchman classic lifestyle program will be designed by Liz Claiborne Inc. and Kohl’s will lead the manufacturing, production, distribution and marketing of the collection. Dana Buchman’s image and likeness is expected to be leveraged in marketing, Kohl’s said.
Women’s apparel, intimate apparel, accessories, and footwear will be available in spring 2009 in more than 1,000 Kohl’s stores nationwide and on Kohl’s.com. Ultimately, the brand “may extend into home, beauty and fragrance categories,” the retailer said.
Yes, I heard the news Don't know if it will be the same quality of clothing. I doubt it. I have been wearing Dana Buchman for years especially her polyester and down coats. She also catered to petite women, which was wonderful for many. Her quality, and expertise, will sorely be missed. Loved her animal print linings!. No alterations at all were ever needed. Her clothes fit perfectly. I would appreciate any help I can in locating an address where I could write her a personal thank-you email. If anyone out there know how she could be reached, or how a grateful customer could thank her, please let me know with an email. Thanks a million. She deserves kudos for many years for her beautiful clothing and unique taste.
