Research Triangle Park, N.C. – An online course series, Textile Fundamentals, is being offered at a 30% discount to members of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC).
AATCC has teamed with the Textile Education Department of the College of Textiles at North Carolina State University to offer what they term “a comprehensive, in-depth study of textile processing from fibers to finishing.”
This e-learning series includes animation and videos, text of the narration modules, a textile glossary, and a detailed index of topics.
Current modules – 10 in all – include: Fundamentals of Fibers, Spun Yarn Manufacturing, Warp Preparation, Weft Knitting, Weaving Fundamentals, Nonwovens, Fabric Preparation, Color and Color Properties, and Dyestuffs and Applications.
Modules focusing on Chemical and Mechanical Finishing, Warp Knitting, Printing, and Texturing will soon be added. Modules are priced (with a one-month access time) at $140 each, or $99 each for members.
A demo of the series is available on the AATCC website at www.aatcc.org. Click on the pink “AATCC Presents…ELearning” box on the right – or select “Programs” from the menu bar and then click on “Workshops/Symposia.”
