At the New York Market —Ellison Textiles has hired Scott McLam, former Dan River vice president of sales for two and a half years, as vice president of sales.
McLam started his career at Fieldcrest and has held sales management positions at Huntington Mills, Franco Manufacturing and Malden Mills, on the apparel side of the textiles business.
In other news, the company will continue to expand its silk bedding and blanket business and is adding colorful fleece throws in six to seven hues. It is offering a two-thirds embellished, one-third printed bedding mix, most of which is produced overseas.
“We've gone from being a primarily domestic manufacturer to more of a globally sourced option for our retailers,” said Ellison President Kevin Finlay. Approximately 24 beds were displayed in the showroom, 16 of which were sourced.
“One of the advantages we have on the print side is that we can quickly replenish the items here in the United Stated by having a duplicate set of screens for every pattern that we've sourced so far,” Finlay added.
We would love your feedback!
