New York — Brentwood Originals reached a record during New York Home Fashions Market in the dec pillow and chair pad categories. “We've taken more than $1 million in 'at-once' orders,” said Loren Sweet, president, of the company's score for the week at market.

He told HTT that because most retailers have been tight on inventory in the face of a tough economy and slow store traffic, “Now they need new inventories, and we've had people come in looking for goods that we can ship to them right now.”

As for newly introduced product, Brentwood showed a healthy assortment of bright, textured looks as well as many varieties of animal looks — from skins to pictorial tapestries. Textured tonal looks that take a basic style up a notch or two in design and price point offered new opportunities for contemporary tastes, as well.
