Greensboro, N.C. -- The International Oeko-Tex Association will participate in the inaugural edition of The Green Event, an eco-textile industry conference, at the Millennium Hotel in New York, Sept.18-19.
Oeko-Tex will be part of the Green Stamps expert panel which will give attendees practical advice on textiles certification programs to support their companies’ sustainability strategies. The Green Stamps panel will convene at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19.
Oeko-Tex is a Zurich, Switzerland-based group of 14 independent textiles research and testing institutes with offices in over 40 countries. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is a certification label program based on tests for harmful substances in textiles.
Dina Dunn, the Oeko-Tex spokesperson on the Green Stamps panel, noted, “Interest in sustainable and environmental textiles is at an all time high with consumers and retailers. However, textile products executives need to thoroughly understand the many options available in today’s global market so they can make the most effective choices for their company and their customers.”
Oeko-Tex will also sponsor a cocktail reception on Sept. 18; Oeko-Tex executives from the United States and Europe will be on hand.
