Welspun nabs another WestPoint vet

NEW YORK — Welspun has added to its newly established U.S. staff with the hiring of Jeff Kambak, former account manager for Wal-Mart and Sam's Club at WestPoint Stevens.
At Welspun, he has taken the post of regional sales manager overseeing primarily Midwestern accounts: Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, JCPenney, Target, Sears and others. He will continue to be based inPlano,Texas.According to Charles Gaenslen, who joined Welspun earlier this month as chief operating officer and executive vice president for the U.S. office, Kambak will work in conjunction with Welspun's independent sales representatives.Kambak joined the then-WestPoint Pepperell in 1983 and spent four years with the mill before leaving to go into the real estate development business. Eight years later, he rejoined the industry by returning to WestPoint Stevens, where he has spent the past decade.He is the second WestPoint vet hired by Welspun to staff itsU.S.office. Last year, the Indian manufacturer hired Blair Tate as design director for bath.
