Wellman increasing prices

Charlotte, NC — Wellman Inc. this morning announced it would raises prices on its polyester staple fiber products by 12 percent to 14 percent, effective with March 2 shipments. The company cited steadily increases costs of raw materials.
"Wellman can no longer absorb or offset the full cost of these increases. Wellman remains committed to the fibers business and continues to focus attention on developing differentiated, higher value-added products for its customers," the company said in the prepared statement.
