Next Generation Takes Ginsey Reins

Longtime bath product manufacturer and marketer Ginsey Industries is under new ownership, but retains the same management. Harry Haber, who for the past 15 years has operated the company and owned the majority of it, is "passing along the leadership to the youth of this organization" — his son, Keith, and company president and coo Stephen Novick.

With the financial support of Hunt Private Equity Group, Keith Haber — vp of product development and international sourcing — and Novick now share ownership of Ginsey and will remain in their posts.

Harry Haber, who no longer owns any part of Ginsey, has signed an appointment contract to stay on "for many years" as chairman of the board. "I have enjoyed [Ginsey] very much," Haber told HTT. "And I want to remain a part of it but I want to pass the leadership to others, yet stay an active part of the organization."

Haber said Hunt's support will be instrumental in assisting the company in expanding into new product categories in home textiles and other home categories "that make sense for us."

Ginsey produces juvenile and adult bath products for mass merchants, specialty stores, home centers, supermarket and drugstores. It works with several juvenile license properties – Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Blues Clues and Spongebob; as well as Sesame Street, and Bob the Builder. For its adult market, it holds the Rubbermaid license for tub mats, and several other adult bath coordinate licenses for toilet seats.
