Galli named pres., ceo of Rubbermaid

FREEPORT, IL — Newell Rubbermaid Inc. announced the appointment of Joseph Galli as president and ceo.
Newell Rubbermaid is the parent company of window coverings manufacturers Levolor and Kirsch.
Galli succeeds William Sovey, who will reassume his position as chairman of the board. He will oversee the company's worldwide operations and expansion in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
According to a statement released by the company, he will also be responsible for increasing new product development and brand management initiatives.
Galli was most recently the president and ceo of VerticalNet Inc., a business-to-business e-commerce company. He was also coo of Internet retailer Amazon.com as well as president of Black & Decker's North America Power Tools Group.
