Donna Karan settles in SoHo

NEW YORK —
Donna Karan International, with its flagship store on Madison Avenue, has just opened its second location here in SoHo, showcasing its apparel as well as a selection of its home products.
Located a world away from Madison Avenue at 420 West Broadway, the new 7,000-square-foot space is funky like its SoHo neighbors, using concrete floors, high ceilings and exposed brick. Walls of mirrors visually extend the space even more, and raised platforms add dimension.
The products are artfully presented throughout the store, and the home textiles are limited to decorative accents only, as the bedding is saved for the department store channel exclusively, said Joanne Gibbs, director of marketing, Donna Karan Home. Decorative pillows, throws and blankets are salted throughout the store, with the collection's "low-end" starting at $80 for a fur-trimmed wool pillow and $200 for a chunky floor pillow to a Criss Cross leather pillow for $750 and a rabbit cashmere throw for $3,000. A few products from other vendors were represented as well, including pillows from Dransfield & Ross.
Gibbs also mentioned that the company hoped to open home stores eventually.
We would love your feedback!
